International Confederation of Plastic Surgery Societies
Young Plastic Surgeons Committee
The Young Plastic Surgeons Committee provides support and guidance for newly qualified plastic surgeons in the transition from being a Trainee to gaining the experience they need to achieve a successful career in Plastic Surgery. The Committee identifies and disseminates resources, mentorship and collaboration opportunities and provides webinars and virtual events featuring early-career plastic surgeons.
Under the leadership of Andrea Battisitini, Vice Chair of the Young Plastic Surgeons Committee, there are two webinars scheduled on 11 July and 10 October in 2026 providing support and guidance for newly qualified plastic surgeons.
Dr. Susana Benetiz, Chair of the Young Plastic Surgeons Committee, leads the ICOPLAST Young Plastic Surgeons Mentorship Program establishing structured mentorship to advance educational leadership, institutional governance, and clinical innovation. Structured mentorship has been shown to be critical to producing the next generation of competent, passionate, and successful surgeons, with impacts on research productivity, leadership attainment, and career satisfaction.
